Beautiful example of an integrated dentists spittoon and rinsing mechanism in brass construction and original four legged extendable brushed steel stand.
De Trey and Co Ltd London (subsidiary of De Trey's of Zurich in Switzerland), were the Rolls Royce of Dental Manufacturers in the early days of 'modern dentistry'. This extremely rare example with sympathetic soft light conversion in recognition of its' rarity (easily removable) and retaining its' original main hose with brass fittings (removed for photography).
Similar example to this unit recorded and photographed by Australian Dental Association Queensland (ADAQ). Also, very similar item constructed in brass in the University Museum, Utrecht, The Netherlands, manufactured by Kronring Berlin circa 1890, basin with rinsing mechanism and spittoon / cuspidor in brass and crystal cut glass.
Industrial construction and heavy at 20 Kg. Extendable height 1.6m approx.
