Price £375
High grade leather trunk by the well respected luggage and trunk maker Finnigan Manchester. Circa 1920.
The trunk is complete with key and leather retaining straps. These have been repaired at their ends with brass rivots where they meet the buckles. The lock is primitive 4 lever in brass, and the key must be used to open the catch when closed. Inside, there is a well fitted compartmental tray, and linen pockets inside the lid, nicely finished with leather edging/beading. The maker's label is present inside the lid and FINNIGAN MAKER MANCHESTER is heavily embossed into the leather lid at both ends. The main lifting handles on both ends of the trunk are of robust construction and remain sturdy. The smaller front handle strap is missing but the buckle is still in place.
The leather of the main trunk is in excellent condition, with the exception of repair to the restraining straps and missing front lifting handle (as described).
Dimensions: Height = 35cm; Width = 84cm; Depth = 50cm
