Large Japanese Cloisonne Enamel 'Flower' Charger. Circa 1880.

A simple and effective design, decorated profusely with peonies / flowers and a central blossom. Further surrounded with foliage in indigo blue, light blues, red and yellow enamels. The background rendered in deep green enamel and wirework of simulated clouds, water droplets and geometrical shapes. The reverse similarly decorated with peony blossoms / flowers with stylised water droplets, and a central geometrical shape simulating blossom.

Condition: Excellent and original condition. No enamel losses. Display lighting used in some photos (including main photo) to capture the beauty of the vivid enamels.
